FILM & PRESENTATION
A short film of Palestinian & international demonstrators protesting against the wall - filmed by a local peace activist who recently visited Palestine. Also, a presentation of maps and photos showing the spread of the new wall in Gaza & the West Bank.
CONTEXT: For over a year now, Israel has been constructing a ‘security barrier’, officially intended to prevent Palestinian suicide bombers from entering Israel. But the 8m high wall encroaches well into the Palestinian occupied territories, eating up vital agricultural land and even requiring house demolitions along it’s route. Viewed as a outrageous ‘land grab’ by Palestinians, will it actually prevent ‘terrorism’ or merely increase the resentment and further fuel the violent resistance?
Directions: You need to turn off Preston New Road just before the traffic lights at the junction with Mythrop Road (leads to Staining)
From Blackpool, turn right onto Kentmere Drive, left onto Grizedale Road, and St Monica’s Way is to your left. From Preston, turn left onto Oak Leaf Way, then first right into St Monica’s Way.
