My Experiences with Soul

Soul has been sung by Greeks and Freaks but not a single page convinces its existence or non-existence. The genius minds will keep on knocking the doors till the myth is answered. Scientific revolution or human evolution will emancipate human mind from the repression of human enigma.

My Experiences with Soul

"A few proficient doctors and a couple of efficient scientists were carefully watching a human struggling to give up his last breath. The body was housed in a complete closed glass structure in order to have a panoramic view. The impregnable structure had been microscopically examined for any kind of leaks or invisible punctures. The stillness and soundlessness was haunting the show. The atmosphere was whittling to mysterious happenings. Everybody was anxious and trying to perceive the subtleties within their cognizance. No doubt, the doctors had abandoned their hopes for any possible survival of the person and had intentionally chosen it as a subject for some unprecedented scientific feat. The structure was fully equipped with sophisticated medical monitoring systems to flash every occurrence of any change in the subject's behavior. Everybody was reluctant to give up their convictions; adroitness was watching and demonstrating the perplexity of human enigma. Few moments later all the systems came to standstill and the flash boards indicated the subject had carried out the orders of omnipotent Death while the intractable men had been speculating. In the blink of an eye an almost inaudible cracking sound sprang from the top of bastion that mesmerized the audacious audience. All wizards were startled. This hypothesis wrote a new history in the sphere of science and accepted the presence of some ectoplasm in a human body. Aa..nd when the omnipotent asks fo..rr its ree..call, noothing can stop it to return it to the Give..rr." said my uncle, in his thundered voice while I was dozing on an unruffled velvet pillow, unflustered. This parable has been haunting the recesses of my mind since I was a kid.

The day had arrived when the ill fated ship had returned from Delos after completing its annual voyage from the pilgrimage. The death clock of Socrates had started and the cup of hemlock was waiting at his death bed. Before leaving for the heavenly abode, Socrates blessed the posterity with his immense knowledge about life and death; his sagacity touching the pinnacles of success; discoursing about the immorality of the soul while the death was at a distance of one hand away from the cup of potion. He wished to die hundred times if the death was taking him to the place where he could converse with Homer, Orpheus and Musaeus. He considered soul an immortal and wished for its prosperous journey to the other world. Death in his dictionary was parting of the soul from the body.

Do you possess a soul? What a dumb question! Tons and tons of pages have been written to answer this myth but the question still remains unanswered. After a fair struggle of nine months, you realize how much God has been favorable to you. The outcome of the divine favor could be laudable if you find yourself resting in the cradle of a castle. If a cheap soul was purchased for you, you have ended up in the lap of a pauper. Despite all hardships He bestowed you with this celestial blessing; you dare not to detest His will. However, He has promised you for taking it back after you have exhausted its usage. He however admonished you from time to time to purify it by ethical virtues, benevolence, nobility, generosity and truthfulness. You never paid any heed. Does this imply that someone else have to carry this burden and pay for your wrong-doings?
