Campsfield was one of dozens of demos

Bill MacKeith | 01.02.2004 15:07 | Migration | Oxford

Campsfield demo was one of dozens of demos.

I thought the "poor turn out at Campsfield" was a bit negative. We were about 20 people, which is as much as usual at the monthly demo, but more important is that the demo was one of ten in the UK and over 60 acros Europe in what was the First European Day of Actions Against Detention and For Migrant Rights. See Droits Devant !! and Sanspapiers and jpujol websites for full reports.

Yes, fair point. It was just a bit disapointing for me personally, having only previously been to the big '10yrs too long' anniversairy one.

how to get the reports you want

01.02.2004 19:18

imc uk has publicised the european noborder action day for weeks precisely because it was a very important and europe wide initiative.

imc uk can only publicise what is posted on the newswire. The only posting about cambridge I am aware of was obvioulsly from somebody who had hoped for a larger crowd.
More in-depth reports, preferably including links, would be welcome.

But just as imc features can only reflect what's in the newswire, newswire posts can only reflect what's going on in the real world - personally I didn't write a report because it didn't seem like there was much to report - although I'd probably be quite pleased if someone else did!
