Benefit for who?

Is anyone needy actually benefiting from this, or does it just "benefit" the club owner?

Yep

It says the 1in12 club library! The 1in12 club is an anarchist co-operatively owned social centre. The library was originally opened by the late Albert Meltzer. Since then it has expanded and will soon include a reading roon with PC's to browse the internet, WEA courses and lots more access to the books.

Is anyone needy actually benefitting from this or just the club owners? Curious question.
I am one of the 250 present Club members and have been for twenty years. I share ownership of the building with all those people so I don't know if that excludes me from having a genuine need. Does having a library devoted to revolutionary and libertarian ideas count as genuine need. I guess I believe the world needs these ideas pretty desperately. But then again a library ain't gonna change the world is it so who knows. But I guess self management and mutual aid are key ingredients to any world I believe in so I probably will hop along and support 'A benefit for the 1 in 12 Library Collective'. Just like it said in the publicity blurb!!

Club owners? and Needy Members!

Does this benefit anyone needy or just the club owners? curious question. I'm one of the 250 current 1 in 12 Club members, that makes me a co-owner. Does that preclude me from having a genuine need. And what constitutes genuine need. I guess a library is probably not high on most peoples wish list during a drought. Then again a library devoted to human emancipation doesn't sound like such a bad idea, you could say after all that the world could do with a bit more of that. Anyway, self-management and mutual aid come at the top of any society I would choose to live in so I think I'll make the effort and hop on down to the '1 in 12 Library Collective Benefit'. Just like it said on the box.
