Three Trident Ploughshares activists will soon be on trial for trying to DISARM TRIDENT at Devonport Dockyard, on 2 seperate occasions. One of the activists, Sue Brackenbury from Faslane Peace Camp, who was involved in both attempts at the Direct Action, is currently in prison.

Early morning on the 22nd September 2003 two Trident Ploughshares
activists, Matt Bury and Sue Brackenbury were arrested after scaling a
perimeter wall at Devonport naval dockyard. Trident nuclear weapon
submarine HMS Vanguard is undergoing a refit and the two said they had
jointly undertaken the action to disarm the submarine.

On 9th November 2003 Sue Brackenbury and Shirley Law took part in a second
anti-Trident action at Devonport naval dockyard. Sue was remanded in
custody after this further attempt to disarm the UK Trident submarine. They
were charged with criminal damage and going equipped to cause criminal damage.

Write to Sue who is currently being held at HMP Eastwood Park, Falfield,
Wotton-under-Edge, Glos. GL12 8DB. 01454 262100. Prisoner number HT6792.

Sue Brackenbury and Shirley Law's hearing proceeded yesterday, Thursday 8th
January, in Plymouth Crown Court. It now looks likely from decisions made
by the judge, that the two Devonport Trident Trials for Matt and Sue, plus
Shirley and Sue, will be consolidated. This means that both will be heard
simultaneously starting from February 25th 2004. The trial is likely to
last three days until the 27th February. This will be Sue's next appearance
in court, as the pre-trial hearing set for the 2nd Feb with Matt is no
longer going ahead.
