BAD SUBJECTS
Issue 65

PROTEST CULTURES

In the wake of the past year's widespread demonstrations against the Iraq War and economic globalization policies, the Protest Cultures issue of Bad Subjects begins the new year by examining the role of demonstrations and cultural protest in creating and sustaining opposition to militarism, neo-liberalism, and suppression of domestic
dissent. Issue contributors from six countries write on socialism and peace protests; protest and neo-liberal human rights ideology; strategies and ethics of street protest; media representations of protesters; the anti-FTAA demonstrations in Miami; political
organization emerging from protests; and the architectures, languages, art and dances of protest.
