Anarchist Dayschool in Glasgow

A quick note about the Anarchist Dayschool event in Glasgow yesterday, with workshops, speakers, stalls, gigs and films.

The Anarchist Dayschool took place yesterday in a community centre in Glasgow. Workshops were held about the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World), the Anti-War Movement, Palestine, Chiapas, FrockOn, Refugee Support, and Mark Barnsley talked about his experiences as a political prisoner and prisoner support.

There were several stalls, by Faslane Peace Camp, the Anarchist Federation, AK Press, Class War Magazine, Autonomous Centre of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Campaign, Edinburgh Claimants, the M74 Campaign and the Scottish Green Party.

Some short films were shown after the workshops by the Camcorder Guerillas and before the gig started.

Overall, it was quite a good day to meet up, exchange information and network and share experiences. About a hundred people were participating at the event.
The discussions were very focused and honest, and the food, as ever, excellent.

The event was bringing together not only anarchists, but also a broader audience of like-minded people who share sinmilar visions and dreams for a better and more just world.

Several new and old initiatives were brought together and/or revitalised and ideas, forthcoming events and projects publicised.
