Anti-Boycott Picket tonight Marble Arch M&S and every Thursday evening at 5:30pm

Boycotts never work | 11.12.2003 15:54

There will be an anti-boycott picket outside the Marble Arch branch of Marks & Spencers on Oxford Street this evening starting at 5:30pm and every Thursday evening at the same place and time. This is to counter a boycott Marks & Spencer picket by pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel activists. We need people to come and counter the lies they put out. Look out for the Israeli and British flags of our picket.

We need to counter the propaganda and lie put out by pro-Palestinian and anti-Isreali activists. Their boycott campaign is similar the campaign of boycotting Jewish goods by the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. They target Marks & Spencers stores because of its Jewish roots and its trading links with Israel. This is totally racist and anti-semitic! What ever peoples views on the Israel / Palestine conflict boycotts will not solve the problem. Boycotts will only make the situation worse by increasing unemployment in the Middle East. Boycotts have never worked as a means of solving political situations only peaceful negotiations have ever worked. The Palestinians for one have rejected peaceful negotiation and chosen to take up arms as their means of settling their dispute with Israel. The boycott activists have never once critised Palestinian terrorism and so have a weak argument when it comes to blaming Israel for the problems of the Middle East.

No South African boycotts didnt work

No the South African boycott didn't work it only led to more hardship for the blacks who suffered because of it due to lack of jobs. Also what do the Palestinian supportters want Israel to do? Israel has offered the Palestinians every concession it could and in return all it got was more terrorism and suicide bombings. In the 2000 the Israel government offered the Palestinians their own state but this offer was flatly refused.

The pro-Palestinian protesters seem to blame the victim Israel claiming that it is Israels fault that is the target of terrorism and suicide bombings just as some people blamed America for the September 11th attacks. But would these same people blame black, asian and gay people for the April 1999 nail bomb attacks? Of course they wouldn't! So one one hand they accept that terrorism is carried out by evil people with evil motives while on the other trying to claim the some terrorism is the fault of the victim or terrorism. What warped logic is that??????

Betar

The above was posted by a right wing Zionist group called Betar. You can check out their racist filth at www.Betar.co.uk. They've been forming a counter-demo against the marks and Spencer picket every Thursday. They have been accompanied by British fascists. Nothing new, Betar's founder Vladimir Jabotinsky was an extreme Zionist with links to Mussolini and other fascist movements in Europe. Betar propose the full ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, the forced take over of Gaza and The West Bank and building greater Israel from the River Jordan to the Nile. Have no mistake, these people are the biggets racists and anti-Semites around. Betar-Likud have been responsible for attacks on pro-Palestinian Jewish people here and in Paris. Check them out for yourselves if you're intrigued. They're outside M&S every Thursday from 5.30pm waving their Israeli flags, union jacks and stars & stripes. You can miss a bunch of load mouth fascists on a cold Winter's night!

Actually South Africa did work

Because the apartheid regime collapsed, which was the intent of the boycotts.

And during the recent 'ceasefire', the Israeli administration continued its assasinations of Palestinians. So that would have been one thing the Israli state could have done, observed the ceasfire to allow negotiations to start.
