Anti-Boycott Picket tonight Marble Arch M&S and every Thursday evening at 5:30pm
Boycotts never work | 11.12.2003 15:54
There will be an anti-boycott picket outside the Marble Arch branch of Marks & Spencers on Oxford Street this evening starting at 5:30pm and every Thursday evening at the same place and time. This is to counter a boycott Marks & Spencer picket by pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel activists. We need people to come and counter the lies they put out. Look out for the Israeli and British flags of our picket.
We need to counter the propaganda and lie put out by pro-Palestinian and anti-Isreali activists. Their boycott campaign is similar the campaign of boycotting Jewish goods by the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. They target Marks & Spencers stores because of its Jewish roots and its trading links with Israel. This is totally racist and anti-semitic! What ever peoples views on the Israel / Palestine conflict boycotts will not solve the problem. Boycotts will only make the situation worse by increasing unemployment in the Middle East. Boycotts have never worked as a means of solving political situations only peaceful negotiations have ever worked. The Palestinians for one have rejected peaceful negotiation and chosen to take up arms as their means of settling their dispute with Israel. The boycott activists have never once critised Palestinian terrorism and so have a weak argument when it comes to blaming Israel for the problems of the Middle East.

The pro-Palestinian protesters seem to blame the victim Israel claiming that it is Israels fault that is the target of terrorism and suicide bombings just as some people blamed America for the September 11th attacks. But would these same people blame black, asian and gay people for the April 1999 nail bomb attacks? Of course they wouldn't! So one one hand they accept that terrorism is carried out by evil people with evil motives while on the other trying to claim the some terrorism is the fault of the victim or terrorism. What warped logic is that??????

And during the recent 'ceasefire', the Israeli administration continued its assasinations of Palestinians. So that would have been one thing the Israli state could have done, observed the ceasfire to allow negotiations to start.
