Late night stop shopping report

Ten of the Nottingham Wilko’s hit squad (from the Campaign Against Prison Slavery) carried out their own version of late night shopping this Wednesday sending a clear message to Wilkinson’s Hardware Store to clean up its act.
The visible part of the CAPS team started by leafleting in store about the prison slave labour issue but were quickly ejected, one shopper read the leaflet and exclaimed, “Ooh the things they don’t tell us about.” This left others to continue with their in-store non-shopping actions at their leisure. Outside flyers were distributed at both entrances of the city centre location, a large banner got the message across to passing traffic on Parliament St. Cars honked their horns in support, some shoppers decided to stay away, one guy said he was shocked and upset as he thought Wilko’s was a decent local employer which cared about social issues, he thanked the CAPS team for being there. So positive and upbeat was the response that the team will be back for more at the weekend. Of course the cops had a look in and asked one of the team if they could have the date of the next CAPS action! So come and join us this Saturday 13th December, pre- meet 12 noon at the Rose and Crown (Yorker) Mansfield Rd, Nottingham.
