Spotted by a Bristol Indymedia reader, this from yesterday's Guardian : job advert for a 'Programme Support Officer', based in Wigan.

"Programme Support Officer 37 hours per week
"Funded through the Objective 2 & 3 Programmes, this post will support the ongoing delivery and mainstreaming of cross cutting theme activity in the North West, including the analysis and monitoring of CCT information and outputs.
"This is a temporary post until 31 December 2006"

So now you know what all your cash is being spent on by the NWRA: mainstreaming cross cutting theme activity. Oh, and another general requirement cited for the post is the need for 'effective communication skills'.

"The message is that there are no knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns, that is to say there are things we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns - things we do not know we don't know."
