Late report on a local demo against Bush visit.
Dover,Kent. 19.11.03.
The Dover & Deal Stop the War Co held a rally in Market square on weds 19.11 to protest
the visit of George Bush.
members met at the centre of town and some formed a cavalcade of cars (to the Port to
block traffic) and were dressed to represent prisoners who are held at Guantanamo Bay.
The protest in Market Sq was held in the evning after a stall had been manned earlier
in the day to distribute leaflets.
CND spokespersonsaid " Many of us felt that we could not let this visit go by without
showing that here in Dover & Deal,we do not agree with the insensitive timing of such a
visit".
"The war in Iraq was illegal,weapons have still not been found and people,both military
and civilian,are still being killed".
