Bandits launch Merseyside anti-racism drive

Highly acclaimed Merseyside indie group the Bandits kick started a Merseyside anti-racism drive last Thursday (27th Nov).
The band played the gig along with other local groups including Space Train, Majestic, and The Shakti at the Barcelona Bar, Renshaw Street. A speech was also given by Hannah Charnock, President of the Liverpool Guild of Students.
The event, attended by around 250 people, was staged to officially launch the Merseydside Coalition Against Racism and Facism (MCARF). The coalition of local trade unionists, anti-racism groups, and students aim to fight BNP candidates who are expected to stand in Merseyside in next years local elections.
