b) Being sued, even being convicted in a crimimal case, would NOT remove a president from office. There are a very few methods by which a US president may be reomved from office according to the Constitution. There is an ammendment dealing with incapacity (that's of the MEDICAL sort, not having been successfully sued or convicted in criminal case). And then there is the impeachment process.
The impeachment process is a POLITICAL process. It was natural that it was set up in that fashion because the framers of the Constition were intending it to be used for political crimes (in the 18th century, that's what the legal term "high crimes and misdemeanors" meant, essentailly misuse of office for personal or factional gain(in your terms, "stealing by using for personal purposes the monarch's power). Had nothing to do with "seriousness".
OK then, it's a political process. To impeach you need votes in the House of Representatives and to convict votes in the Senate. You see any chance of getting those votes? If you do, you're crazy.
