At the anti-FTAA-march in Montreal, November 20, a banner for the Tessaloniki hungerstrikers

There was a nice reclaim the streets march in Montreal yesterday, Thursday 20th. Some 1500 people took part (maybe more, own estimate). It started from two separate points, then met in the business-centre of town and went on jamming the traffic. It ended on the intersection of St. Catherine and McGill with a nice soundsystem, chairs to block traffic (and police, and to sit on). When too much police surrounded the area it was decided to disband, so crowds of people went in all directions, still chanting and taking the streets. No arrests as far as known.

We - a menacing EUblock consisting of two persons - carried a banner for the Tessaloniki 7 all the way, and then hung it on a billboard at the endpoint. Many people, and some journalists, wanted to know what it was all about, so at least it was a way to make it known this side of the ocean. Some of the student-radioprograms will cover the issue the comming days.
