Almost as good as the mayor of London.

19-11-2003,05 :31 - Prince Charles has not been to the US for the last six years on the advice of the British Foreign Office, The Guardian newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The Prince of Wales has strong pro-Palestinian views and is privately critical of US policy in the Middle East conflict, according to the report.

British diplomats fear that Prince Charles's views might have created embarrassment on a visit to Washington.

A source, who is familiar with the discussions over possible visits by the Prince of Wales to the US, said: "It [concern over Charles travelling to the US] revolves around the perception that the Prince of Wales is fairly Arabist. He has, in American terms and international terms, fairly dodgy views on Israel.

"He thinks American policy on the Middle East is complete madness and he used to express that quite loudly to a lot of people, including ministers and various ambassadors."

The source added: "The system basically thinks that he is unsound on America and he has not really wanted to go anyway. He doesn't much like American culture." (Albawaba.com)

Why he will never be (and should never be) King.

Dear Jamie,

Since you don't want him, can the U.S. have him? We can use a President with a brain for a change.

I can't understand why Brits don't demand that Queen Liz step down. She's not only over the hill, she's totally out of touch with the people. It took her almost a week before it occurred to her it might be nice to honor Lady Di and respect her "subjects' " grief. She has failed to show any spine on the war issue, to even visit the troops. She covers for Tony Blair (she apparently is quite aware of many of his lies, including his history of heart trouble - which he lied to the public about), yet says nothing. She hosts Bush, costing the British taxpayers MILLIONS and risking lives by engaging 16,000 police to guard his sorry ass. Who, exactly, does this old broad represent. The people? Yeah, like George Bush represents the American people.
I say give her the boot and put Charles in. At least on the odd occasion he actually speaks up. And he doesn't wear bizarre hats. At least in public.
