Police attack protesters outside buckingham palace

relay | 19.11.2003 16:56

Police have just moved in and attacked a peaceful protest outside buckingham palace.

4.40pm Wednesday, London - Buckingham Palace

Reports just coming in of a completely unprovoked police attack on protesters, targetting speakers using a small sound system outside Buckingham palace. A squad of police attacked a group of people around a small sound system playing anti-Bush music, violently pushing and punching people. Police have now surrounded the system and making people wit the system pack up and leave. Could hear lots of outraged shouting "What are you doing?! This is a peaceful protest!","This is censorship" and "shame on you" - and "calm down".

No official reason given... police have threatened but have made no arrests - this is jsut like the notorious flag-stealing incident...
