For the end of the European Social Forum there was a huge demonstration through the centre of Paris, calling for a Europe with rights in a world without war...

The demonstration set out from Place de la Republic. Setting off a 2pm the end of the demonstration wouldn't finish till around 7pm.

The front of the march was taken by supporters of the intermitants - occasional workers such as actors, and seasonal employees, some of whome are on stike, over changes that to benifits that will make their lives unaffordable. The stopped the demonstation outside the opera.

It seems there was a disagreement with the Socialist Party (the mainstream French party that was running the country). This lead to them asking to leave the demonstration. Full details when there are clear...

The demonstation was a very diverse one, with environmental groups, anti-war groups, left groups... The most vocal and common demands of the demonstation came in solidarity with the sans and the intermitants.
