a magical horse

L | 12.11.2003 00:45 | Free Spaces | Oxford

it was a normal tuesday morning in oxford town. the air was calm and still.

people were going about their daily business, and some were handing out bush
flyers at the exam schools. (incidentally we had 200 today and ran out so
whoever is on tomorrow could take a few more). suddenly, in a cloud of mist,
a glossy black horse of splendour appeared outside the sheldonian...

basically someone (probably lloyds tsb - we're not allowed to know yet, they
call it 'subversive advertising') has started an ad campaign which involves
strategically placing a mysterious black horse around oxford. some of us saw
it this morning and tried to decorate it, but didn't really have enough
stuff. (an iron and a pair of drumsticks). so we made some beautiful posters
(horses against bush, this is a no war horse, set me free, deomnstrate nov
19th etc) and went back to the sheldonian. to our dismay, the horse of
wonder had gone.

HOWEVER we have since learned that it wasn't just a ghostly apparition, and
it will be out and about in the coming days. be vigilant! be creative! be
prepared with decorative tools! show oxford what subversive advertising
really looks like!
