Indymedia Norway raided!!!

M. Knutsen | 07.11.2003 14:17 | Indymedia | World

Police conducts raid & seizure of Indymedia Norways server.

At 10.30 local time, police conducted a razzia against the firm hosting Indymedia.nos server, and seized this for copying. Also on the same machine was the server of among others autonome house Blitz and Norways only estrablished radical party, Rød Valgallianse (Red Election-alliance). As of now, 15.00, all these pages are down.

The razzia seems linked to another raid against two private houses and a collective in Oslo, wich allegedly houses Animal rights-activists. As of now we can not confirm any arrests, but according to leading newspaper Aftenposten the police were looking for three named persons. We urge you all to contact local police at  info@oslo.politiet.no or even better, give 'em a ring at (047)22 66 90 50 and express your firm opinions regarding this situation.

Information so far is that the police department on economical cases in Norway had a warrant to search the harddisk on the server. Hopefully it will be back up in a couple of hours. The police is copying the disk and not taking the server with them.

They had a warrant to copy the disk. Probably in relation to a police action this morning against the homes of two suspected animalrights activists and a vegan collective (both in the oslo area). .no server is down now, but will be up again later this afternoon.

3 police are copying. 15 went into the collective this morning and have said that they are holding the house until 17.00.

We de not log IPs and therefore the compromise is partially contained.
