just logged on, feature article telling the situation as it is and inviting comment (I presume in portuguese).
They have ahd a few blows, need people to participate, they make it quite clear they do not pretend to have any monopoly on indymedia in Portugal (or portuguese) and if the site goes down for lack of support [tech-writing-money-legalhelp-the usual] it will only be a provisional lack of "imc-pt".
The commentators have drawn a clear comparison with Galizia indymedia (gallego and portuguese are very close linguistically) and hope that Portugal indymedia will be "transparent and clear" in the future as indeed the past:

If you are portuguese maybe now's the chance to get involved.
indymedia is more than just a computer.
it's people.

The most interesting developments in indymedia group indentity over the last year (in my opinion) were emergences of new "transnational" collectives such as Madiq indymedia which caters for both Canarias and Morroco as well Andalucia in the state of Spain.
Some of those who are active in both Portugal and Galizia indymedia circles have envisioned a "Indymedia Portugalgaliza".

Though I reckon it ought get a better name.

Saúde,terra e liberdade!
