Simon Chapman (uk anarchist), Fernando Gorraiz, Carlos Martinez, Souleiman "Kastro" Dakduk, Spyros Tsitsas are currently entering their 4th week on hunger strike. Arrested at the EU summit demonstrations in Thessaloniki Greece in June, all (along with 2 Greek juveniles) have been denied bail & been charged with identical crimes. A third appeal has just been rejected which means they will be facing between 7–25 years in prison if convicted.
All deny the charges & are being set up as examples by the Greek state. We know for a fact evidence has been fabricated against Simon (TV footage showing police planting molotov cocktails on him), with the others claiming similar things.
It is vital we continue these actions of solidarity. Next year Greece hosts the Olympic Games. They want the world to see the best they have to offer. But behind the facade lie political prisoners, beaten up, framed & imprisoned for daring to challenge the EU’s racist new policies. Come & show your support.
