Special Meeting: Crisis in the Middle East
There can be no peace without an end to occupation

A special meeting to discuss the deepening crisis and plan the way forward in Sheffield in light of the worsening situation in the middle east, the wider 'War on Terror', and the visit of George Bush. If you have any particular ideas for events that you would like to discuss it would be helpful to let us know in advance, please get in touch. All welcome!

Provisional Agenda

7:00 - 8:00pm : Panel-led discussion on the deepening crisis in South Asia and Arabia, with speakers invited from the Iraqi Peoples Support Group; Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and the Sheffield Afghani community.

8:30 - 9:30pm : Discussion on what we can do in Sheffield to make a difference. Please bring your ideas and proposals on what Sheffield-wide events we could organise together, and what sort of network we need to connect induviduals, local anti-war groups, trade union branches, community organisations, and congregations who are opposed to the government's war policy.

Wednesday 15th October, 7:00pm.
Quaker Meeting House, St James St (near the Cathedral, just up from the Blue moon)


Also Hunters Bar Against the War have proposed a Sheffield demonstration for Saturday 15th November, provisionally meeting in Barkers Pool at noon. All ideas on what we can do around the demo welcome, at the meeting, or contacts us, or organise and tell us so we can publicise!
