Stagecoach bus company

was just reading the comments about Stage coach and wish to add my own too.
If you are thinking of training with Stagecoach then forget it ! i am one of many who have finished
working for them and i would never go back even if it was the last job paying £20 an hour.
My reasons for leaving were, tired of filling in defect cards only to see the problems still there days later. driving buses with no heaters. going home freezing cold hands and feet. brakes not
working correctly, speedo meters not working or faulty. office staff and mechanics saying it's ok to drive. who gets the points on thier licence !! I owe about 6 months bond for my training and i have no intention of paying it back....but who pays for the training ? is it stagecoach or the government employment.
i will take it to court first and i wonder what the traffic commission would say..but having said that i have heard that Mr Souter sits on the board ?
Funny thing but last year around September , a man was killed on his moterbike near Newport
in South wales... the bus in question was driven back the the stagecoach depot and the next
day it was checked over by the ministry.. another smaller company had a wheel come off and they were not allowed to touch the bus in any way and it was taken away and impounded !!
So you see it looks like one law for big companies and another for smaller ones.
it is obvious the law was broken here.
then you have the gestapo inspectors who are just dying to book you for the slightest thing and i
know of many drivers who have been booked for running just under 2 minutes early.
The pay is crap £6.20 an hour here in Gwent South Wales and all the stress that the comany adds!
There is so much pettyness within Stagecoach with long hours many buses with serious defects. we as drivers are treated like dogs..but we also bring in the revenue.
and make no mistake this is going on in many depots around the UK. very often you just have
to mention the name Stagecoach, the turn over of drivers is truly amazing.
it is little wonder why so many drivers finish .
Surely management can see the writing on the wall .
Now i no longer live on the bread line , i have a new job also as a bus driver and it's a joy to
go to work and come home stress free... also the pay is a lot better, but then if a smaller company can do this then why can't stagecoach..
Stagecoach has also been known to run a free service on another bus companies route to take
over if the unfortunate company refuses to sell out.
happy bus driving.
