Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (October 10) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.2MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (29:01) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via  http://www.kzyx.org
There are several other streams that work better-  http://www.freakradio.org Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) now streams this program on Friday at 9:30am (PDST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)-  http://www.radiolavalamp.org

And the Partytown streams are great and informative-  http://www.partytown.com/radio
This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, the Voice of Russia, China Radio International, Spanish National Radio, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From Netherlands- The Dalai Lama has condemned the cultural genocide of the Tibetan people. The World Bank produced a report stating that the greatest gap between rich and poor are countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The US is resuming its military aid to Columbia, now that the Columbian government has agreed not to extradite Americans to the International Criminal Court. In Argentina, a total of 21 military officers have been arrested for murder and civil rights abuses during the so-called “dirty war.” US Pres Bush defended Israel’s attack on Syria. The US failed to win support for its UN Security Council resolution for assistance in its war on Iraq. The Turkish Parliament approved sending troops to Iraq, despite public disapproval and serious Iraqi concerns.
From Russia- A story and a commentary from the VOR. The Australian Senate gave a vote of no-confidence to Prime Minister John Howard for lying to the nation about Iraq. Tony Blair admitted that Iraq had no available WMDs 2 weeks before the invasion began, according to the ex-Foreign Secretary Robin Cook.
From China- Russia says it is bewildered by the US criticism of the recent election in Chechnya. Thailand is prohibiting Falun Gong members from coming in to demonstrate at the upcoming APEC meeting. Vietnam and the US have made agreements about commercial flights between the 2 countries. Aids to Yassat Arafat deny the story that he had a heart attack. A reorganization of US military strategies in Iraq has exposed internal strife.
From Spain- Monday’s Spanish press review, covering Israel’s attack on Syria and the election in Chechnya.
From Cuba- The US blocked the UN condemnation of Israel’s attack on Syria, although most countries voiced strong opposition and worry about the escalation. Amnesty International pointed out that the promised improvements in the lives of Afghani women have failed to materialize.
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
