Our city is covered by billboards paid for by corporations who tell us what to buy what to think and what to do, yet graffiti, stencilling and stickering are illegal. Only money allows companies to pollute our visual environment, to claim they can make us sexier, freer, richer and more fulfilled.
Billboard subvertising takes away the power advertising and corporations have over our lives while allowing us to create something new and positive.
For a guide to suvertising check out:  http://www.uhc-collective.org.uk/street_art/howto.htm and for ideas take a look at Http://www.subvertise.org
So get on with it and keep your eyes open for ideas!

Very nice. I'm always cheered to see appropriate graffiti on these sinister ads. It's a wonder the companies don't have them pulled quicker - I've seen some in London that stay up for ages with anti-corporate/anti-imperialist slogans on them. If advertising "works" so they say, you gotta think that subvertising works too! Good stuff.
