Confirmed - George W Bush to visit Britain!
It has been confirmed by Buckingham Palace that George W Bush will be visiting Britain on the 19th, 20th and 21st of November. This will be a state visit.
People will be outraged at this fêting of the warmonger in chief even as Iraqis are dying daily. The Stop the War Coalition will be organising demonstrations and a number of other events and stunts on every day of his visit to make it clear that he is not welcome here. Put the dates in your diary now!
We have produced a letter demanding that the British Government retract this invitation immediately. This letter will be available at the demonstration this Saturday and will also be available from the office and on the website. We want people to sign it and send it to 10 Downing St.
Let’s make it clear to this government that George W Bush is not welcome here and that if he does come, he will get a reception he will never forget.

Bush and Blair should be in the dock for the crimes against humanity being commited every day during their illegal occupation of sovereign nations and for ignoring human rights and defying every facet of International Law.
The Queen should be more discerning in the company she keeps, for if she flies with the ravenous carrion crows, she will be shot with them.

i saw a slide show type thing a few months ago and that had an accurate reflection of who is the guilty (guilty? couldnt find a better word) party. Answer: everyone in the labour party cabinet etc...
we have a social democrat type leader that has taken us into into more wars than all the 18 years of tories misrule put together the labour party is guilty and we must confront these scum..the are the classic pro-imperialist party (think back to the liberal party of the 1700s and 1800s) they made alot of imperial actions.
friend and foe are an important issue ('substance before numbers'), for example one of the leading figres in the stop the war coalition is george galloway (womanizer and reformed stalinist), and what about the libdems (traitors to the peace movement). I know we can never be clean of scum like the above and there are leaches in every movement/organisation but we must be aware of them and confront not just the head of the war movement but the leaches and followers ('bad things happen when good people do nothing'), For example some simple actions anyone can do is:
sheffield has two members of the new labour cabinet...confront them and make their lives not so easy ('they shall not sleep easy in their houses why they are commiting terrible oppression elsewhere').

Apart from your comment on what to be done locally I must let you know that the Mayor of lodon is hosting an event at the city hall to coincide with the fucker's visit. Every peace loving citizen is welcome (obviously if they are not busy doing something more important towards this state visit)
Apparently this was the key remark from Ken on the demo yesterday and it is simply unbelievable how it went unreported.
Starting with your local IMC publicity and organisation is badly needed imho.
The national one definitely hastoo many ego wankers over STWC, SWP etc. or more worryingly is infiltrated to the core by agents of darkness.
It needs participation to move its butt.

1 - So we find a small number of facts out.
2 - So we all clap, and hear ourselves clap.
I'm afraid that's about it.

Tony benn is a sorted bloke and he has my total and utter suport, mjor ken livingston is an ok guy, as are many other in the peace movement (the pacifists, cnd etc..) and in my opinion the fluffy liberals give us a bad name, the anti-war movement is not and should not be a guardian reading niche middle class educated elite thing. Lets not forget the educated elite are the dominant class in this country as they will be in iraq when it is handed over to the 'iraqis' i.e. a new iraqi middle class educated elite (as it is already been done).
As a way forward fist we need to look at things differently and see the shit from the muck, (i had an email the other week that said 'the company they keep' it was a reference to the people that sponsor the labour party conference i want to change that to 'the company *we* keep' who is in our ranks?). Secondly we need to act differently (dont be automaticly subservient to those that have the education, thirdly we need to create alternative social arrangements (what ever suits you and your community and not the done thing). These are only surgestions and they are not orders my motto to others has always been 'do as you please'.

Every word must be measured as the potential pull any effort in different directions and achieve little is always there.
Dubya is such a central pigscum there is a piece for everyone though. Lets focus on kicking Dubyas ass only.

what about the 200 or so labour mps that voted for the war (they could have stoped it)

The one major obstacle to all our or indeed any efforts will undoubtably be the media.
Something that refuses to be ignored, is the only guaranteed way that the media will cover the events, or demonstration in any detail or deepth.
I think there are many people that are sympathetic to the stand against Bush but short stunts only enable the media to cover, report and also give the impression the wish to deliver of a small number of 'loonies'. The same sort of thing that has been portrayed for the last forty plus years.
I think that maybe any demonstration should be art based so encouraging comment from differing perspectives and people. I am sure even a smalll groups of people could attract a great deal of attention for positive use.
Manipulating the old adage the best form of defense is sometimes attack, non violent of course, but the present day media and technology overs us up an opportunity unheard of in past decades.
Sorry if i'm rambling. But i would love to see a series of staged events that somehow causes disruption to the visit. I am sure that all of you have the ability to either think of, creat or stage such events.
Many regards and peace to all.

ps. please string some possible 'stunts' that could be used on the day.
Something arty?
Something causing delay?
Something spetacular?
ps. resistbush at yahoo groups has a few people knocking around. Lets trade some ideas (in unspecific detail) :)

Thanks for the help...let the isolation begin!

You poor folks in the EU have a harder path to follow. Read the news and cry. France and Germany and Russia make up a very sad, sorry, alliance which is slowly running over the rest of the EU. If you think Bush is bad, you haven't fully used your imaginations. Just ponder for a moment where you will be headed as you start your adventure of "going it alone".
So, instead of wasting your time and State money by protesting and acting like monkeys, why not just stand politely, give a brief wave out of respect for the "old days" and walk away. Your message will be heard and captured by the media for all of the world, including those of us in "Amerika" which defines, I believe, how you see us.
You lifes should start getting better soon.

Ah, "heading home", now that is a lovely, made-for-TV sentiment. It does ignore the small matter of the coming debt crisis, and the US economy knee-deep in shit, with a terrible credit bubble having been created by our foolish, grasping, short-sighted politicians, and the greedy fools that voted them in. And just like locking yourself inside your house doesn't keep the bailiffs out, neither will isolationism cure the US' pending financial disaster. We've all got to pay up sometime.
We might get over our reliance on enormous loans to the rest of the world pumping air into the sorry balloon of our economy, eventually, but it will be neither pretty nor quick. It will require us to swallow our pride, as we're gradually doing in Iraq, and admit that maybe "going it alone" isn't all it's cracked up to be.
So instead of lecturing foreigners on why it's wrong to protest when our war criminal descends on their capital, demanding that they close part of it down for three days, why not just stand politely, and listen for a change. No one here gives a hoot in hell what the US media thinks about it: they just want to drive the bastard out, and deny him the dignity of the hero's welcome he craves.
Their lives will indeed start getting better soon, but first they need to stand up to the bully. When enough countries do, the bully will fall, and the rest of the world can start to rebuild on the charred ruins we've left them.
