Please don't use UK Indymedia as a political noticeboard in future. Check out the editorial editorial guidelines.

Can't have one rule for the Oxford Socialist Alliance (see previous newswire item) and another for anarchist head the balls now, can we?

Kim check out the Open Publishing Guidelines before you try to compare the AWN with the SA. Under the heading of Hierarchy it's clearly spelt out. Anarchist networks are neither political parties or hierarchically organised.

Indymedia was started by anarchists and other non-hierarchical anti-capitalist activists and it's for us to use - not opportunist political parties like the SA.

If hierarchical groups want to make a website to advertise their movement's groups and events on, they can (except they all hate each other too much!).

Whats wrong with the Socilalist Alliance then? At least they are trying to form a credible alternative party to New Labour and the BNP, despite their flaws.

Is it that you can't stand to have someone who has views that differ from your percious "anarchism"?

As Kim says, can't have one rule for one and one for the other can we now?

Thomas you ask what's wrong with the SA. In terms of the imcuk newswire it's apparent what's wrong with the SA. You say it yourself, the SA are or at least were an attempt to create a hierarchical political party.

From imcuk Newswire Open Posting Guidelines:
Hierarchy : The newswire is designed to generate a news resource, not a notice-board for political parties or any other hierarchically structured organization.

You'll notice it doesn't specifically mention anarchism and anarchists. It recognises that other Libertarians - autonomists, socialists and communists who organise non-hierarchically and outside the redundant party political structures are welcome to post articles.

How do you know that a group is non-hierarchical? Just because they say so?
