Merseyside unites against the fascists

Anti-fascist group formed to stamp out racism on Merseyside

The ‘Merseyside Coalition against Racism and Fascism’ has been created in response to attempts by the British National Party to contest six council seats in the Merseyside area last May. The group consisting of trade unions, activists and anti-fascists is setting out to raise awareness of the dangers of fascism, and to stamp out recent fascist activities in the Anfield/Everton area.

Next year, everybody in Liverpool City Council will be up for re-election and it is feared that far-right political parties will use the opportunity to try to win seats.

Stamp them out!

Don't vote make trouble

Although all the seats that are up for re-election in Liverpool could be contested by the BNP, it is vital that anti-fascists don't preach to people about voting to stop the BNP from getting in. The task is not getting people to vote but to develop attitudes with people locally about rejecting the shit the BNP pump, people should be uniting to gain advances in their communities and not blaming refugees for "Stealing our jobs". Get on the streets and stop the BNP physically from stirring up trouble in Liverpool.

Non-voter

that'll fix em!

Ah yes, how cunning. We'll stop the BNP in their tracks by.. er.. abstaining and letting them continue to win council seats..

Sorry, bit harsh! In fact I do agree stopping fascism takes more than voting, we need proper militant campaigns against poverty and racism.

But it's daft not to vote as well, it doesn't take long and costs nowt!

Fascist Govt In Power

Except we already seem to have a fascistic government who, like previous countries, noted for invading countries, in the thick of the arms trade, rascist ( check out their stance on Roma and asylum seekers - if you've not noticed the concentration camps in the case of the latter ). All this helped by the mainstream media whether through the racist rags such as the Express or Sun, or through exnomination - pretending they don't exist. Most people do not vote. There is no democracy. We have a propaganda war.

direct democracy?

direct stupidity

So we live in a fascist regime? Then why bother fighting the BNP if that's really the case, surely we have been defeated already?

The person who could write such drivel should apologise in the memory of the millions of victims who have died at the hands of actual fascist regimes. To mistake a right-wing neo-libralist government that ignores trade unions in favour of big business with a fascist one that has union activists murdured or imprisioned shows not only a staggering depth of ignorance, but also a breathtaking stupidity when it comes to focussing on the real threat the genuine fascists in our communities pose.
