Tomorrow, thursday september 18 there will be a manifestation (16.00 hrs or 4 pm) at the Berlin Hilton hotel, that`s where the summit of the European education ministers take place!!! It`s not organised from the EEF but from the Asta FU (Student representaives of the free university Berlin)

1. About the collapsed WTO summit in Cancun
Although it is welcomed by us that the developing countries managed to stand together and the draft of the ministerial declaration has not been agreed on, there is no reason to be happy now. There will be further negotiations, and the menace of the EU and the USA to negotiate treaties bilaterally in case of a cancellation of the Doha Round could bring severe consequences to the developing countries. And the GATS negotiations are continued as well. The article 133 ad-hoc committee, which is dedicated to the negotiations of the EU, meets on September 24th 2003. On the schedule (among others): the GATS treaty.

There are four thematic blocks of daily workshops, discourses, panels etc. on the following topics:
- Internationalisation
- Possibilities of participation
- Society and education
- Access to education
Time, place and discussion language are listed in the program-book, which will be available in German and English.

in the evening: briefing for delegation leaders
Thursday, 18.9.: 09.30: Opening plenary
11.30: meeting block I
afterwards lunch time

Friday, 19.9.: 09.30: meeting block IV
11.30: meeting block V

3. Demonstration on Saturday, September 20th
Saturday, 20.9.: 13.00: Beginning of the demonstration at the main building of the Humboldt University, address 'Unter den Linden 6'
14.30: joint manifestation together with the labour unions' youth at 'Hackescher Markt'
Afterwards: Solidarity action with the local parents' initiative for affordable day-care centres
Afterwards: End of the manifestation
4. Registration, sleeping places and program guide
It is very important for you to register first at our information point. You have to pay for your registered sleeping places as well and you will be given all necessary information about your accommodation. You can buy the program guide at the info point. It is available in English and German and contains descriptions of the workshops, the forum's time schedule and further information.

1. About the collapsed WTO summit in Cancun
Although it is welcomed by us that the developing countries managed to stand together and the draft of the ministerial declaration has not been agreed on, there is no reason to be happy now. There will be further negotiations, and the menace of the EU and the USA to negotiate treaties bilaterally in case of a cancellation of the Doha Round could bring severe consequences to the developing countries.
