A leaflet which dispels the myths about the arms trade....(spoof!)

WHY THE ARMS TRADE IS GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!

We at CWP (Coalition of War Profiteers) work to ensure that the lies and hysteria surrounding the arms trade do not affect the image or profits of our industry. In recent weeks there has been much criticism of the arms fair in the Docklands, this instructional leaflet is intended to dispel the myths and explain how the arms trade works for you.

CLUSTER BOMBS

In recent years campaigning groups have been calling for cluster bombs to be banned. This is despite the fact that they are totally legal! Each cluster bomb contains 202 bomblets, which are designed to explode on impact. 5% of these bomblets fail to explode and lie on the ground until disturbed. On the face of it, all these unexploded bomblets lying around might seem hazardous, but nothing could be further from the truth. Due to their spherical shape and attractive yellow colouring, children will often pick them up, and once touched, the cluster bombs explode. This novel method of mine clearing has been very successful in Iraq. Over 1000 children have so far been killed or injured by unexploded bomblets. If they continue at this rate, all unexploded bomblets will be cleared in the near future.

SCORPION TANKS AND HAWK JETS

Another issue for campaigners has been our continued trade with Indonesia, selling Scorpion Tanks, Hawk Jets and other goods. Activists say that equipment sold by us for training purposes is actually being used to attack villages in Aceh, a province of the country which wants independence. We at CWP can offer guarantees that even if the equipment was sold for training purposes, it can be safely used by the Indonesian military in offensive maneuvers. There are strong statistics to back this up; over 15,000 people have so far been killed by the Indonesian military, which would hardly have been possible with dud equipment!

ARMS TRADE AND THE ECONOMY

There is a lot of money to be made from the arms trade and our aim at CPW is to help position UK dealers to make the most of opportunities at this uncertain moment in world affairs. We work to ensure that wherever there is a war, the weapons are supplied by British manufacturers, this creates jobs for British people. Thanks to us, whenever you see news of conflicts in remote parts of the world, you can be sure that as a result, money will be flowing into the hands of British workers and shareholders. Campaigners who oppose the arms trade therefore are anti-British, and even anti-capitalist.

SUPPORT WAR, SUPPORT BRITAIN, SUPPORT CAPITALISM, SUPPORT THE ARMS TRADE.
