How about this as an action - with the purpose of getting some coverage in
> the local media of the DSEi arms fair - and attempts to shut down protests
> against it. (And also of demonstrating solidarity with protesters in

Sheffield protest in solidarity with arms fair protesters who have been
held under anti-terrorism act
At Sheffield's West Bar police station at 11.30 am on Friday, 12th
September.
Today, 6 Sheffield people (including 2 babies), supported by 20 others,
surrendered themselves to police for "breaking the anti-terrorist laws".
This follows events this week at Europe's biggest arms fair, in London's
docklands, where peaceful protesters have been held by police under section
44 of the anti-terrorism act, to prevent them participating in the protest.
The Sheffield police declined to hold anyone, stating that no law was being
broken, and that they supported the right to protest peacefully and
legally. The police accepted a large poster, stating "Peace Protesters are
not terrorists", with messages from all the protesters added, to pass on to
the London police.
Dr. Bob Banks, one of the Sheffield protesters says "We feel it is
outrageous that the Anti-Terrorism Act is being used to clamp down on
protest against the sale of weapons. If these protesters are labelled as
terrorists, then I too am a terrorist, because I also actively oppose this
weapons fair. I feel that the real criminals are the arms dealers, who are
being allowed to sell weapons which kill thousands of innocent civilians
every year."
Weapons of immense destructive power, including cluster bombs are openly on
sale at the DSEi arms fair, which has been running from Tuesday to Friday
this week. Thousands of protesters have gathered in London to peacefully
protest against the fair. These have included many from Sheffield,
including the Sheffield Samba Band, who have been at the forefront of the
action.
