I don't like it.

I don't particularly like the cartoon up today. I understand why it's there and what it says. I understand the rage against the United States government's actions, because I feel it myself. However, I was in NY when it happened and I watched them pull body parts out of the rubble. There is no excuse for this attack, no atrocities committed against others could merit this. Isn't that what the Peace movement is about, not responding to an atrocity with an atrocity? And it's a false comparison to imply that the attacks were particualrly directed at the US for Chile, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Serbia/Kosovo, and all the others. Al-Quaeda hates socialists and secular humanists as much as it targets the United States. When I lived in England, I participated in a number of actions at Fairford, including being arrested, charged, and harrassed under Section 44. So I'm really disappointed and disturbed that this is the way you choose to mark September 11th. Maybe if you had seen the bodies you would feel the same.
