I would agree about blurring faces if you publish anything which shows an [alleged] illegal act going on ( indeed I'd say don't post it at all if it could lead to any identification or prosecution ), but I see no problem with publishing photographs of entirely peaceful, legal, events un-edited.

With the number of CCTV systems and police photographers at most demos, it would be remarkable if the police hadn't got photographs of everyone anyway.

That said; respect people's rights and don't photograph those who request it, or are obviously trying to ensure they are not identified without asking.

Yes, use commonsense, but don't over react.
