Boat activists defeat navy

Saturday 6 September 2003

DSEI attempted to sail 4 warships along the river Thames, through Gallions Reach Lock and into the Royal Victoria Dock near the Excel exhibition centre. 30 activists in three affinity groups succeeded in disrupting the manoeuvre, and the last 2 ships in the convoy aborted their mission and had to stop 7km down stream. So how do you stop a 20 000 ton battle ship, fully equipped with state of the art WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION?

Drink rum the night before, and get yourself some Toys'R'Us inflatable dragon boats. See the video clip!

DSEI say they have 6 warships due to show off their wares. So far no more ship movements have been spotted. Activists are maintaining observations of a 20 mile stretch of the river, and are ready to intervene if any naval vessels attempt to move towards DSEI.
