Extreme Police Harrassement of DSEI Protesters from 11PM until the small hours.

Three DSEI protesters were followed after leaving the convergence centre, at 11PM. They were followed all over North East London then all the way to South London where they sought refuge in a friend's flat. At 1.28 AM the police were still out side the flat.

They were trailed by two cops on foot and a police van for several hours.

Cops badge numbers

When this sort of thing happens, it can be a very good idea to make note of the cops numbers, and write down somewhere what they said to you, that sort of thing. Of course, if the police numbers where then to appear in IMC, it would be very useful indeed!!!

Many people are facing harrassment by cops, in an effort to intimidate, gather info or just to get a rise out of people. It can get you down, so if it happens to you, talk to someone about it. There will be many open ears at the convergence center, and it's always good for info like this to be made public,as the previous poster has done.

FIT pigs?

I noticed one of the FIT pigs outside the Convergence Centre didn't live up to the name, looked like he ate all the pies. And the Intelligence in the acronym FIT? bit of a lie that one, eh?
Seriously this harassment should be countered. For example, what does our dear Mayor Ken think about all of this? Does he condemn this harassment, or will he come out with something like the comments on May Day protests? This needs to be asked of him. Similarly, there should be a press conference and statements to the press, protests to lovcal councillores, MPs about this harassment and letters to the press, including Metro, Standard

FIT cop numbers

The following FIT cops were observed harassing and taking photographs of activists on Saturday's Unity march through central London:

Has anyone noticed this year's fashion for FIT cops to shave all their hair off? Do they think this makes them look tougher? Or is it just so that they can blend in at National Front meetings?

YE458 [YE=Edmonton Station] was also spotted by another activist on Saturday, acting as the silent partner of YE76.

FH138 is from Hammersmith Police station. There have been complaints about this man, some people felt that his obvious relectance to provide his numbers and the defensive attitude he displayed was not in line with the public-minded philosophy of our police force. If you agree, drop his boss a line at 226 Shepherds Bush Road, London, W6 7NX.

Remember to keep a note of officers numbers [pref. FIT team, but any will do], where and when you saw them, and any other interesting details. Then post them on Indymedia. And we can have our own Forward Intelligence Team!!!!
