Next meeting/banner making
The next meeting about the Reclaim The Streets street party for DSEi will be on Tuesday 19th August at 7pm at LARC, 62 Fieldgate St, Whitechapel, London E3. Nearest tube Whitechapel. Be mindful that there are likely to be police photographers outside taking pics of people arriving.
Immediately after the meeting, there will be banner-making in the basement at the same venue. People with no experience are especially welcome. We need to buy some ripstop material first. If anyone’s volunteering to get some from Bhopal’s in nearby Brick Lane, contact the email list first.
We’re still looking for a more central London venue for the meeting of Tuesday 26th August.
Flyers
Street party flyers should be available from Freedom Bookshop, Angel Alley, of Whitechapel High St, London E3 by Friday afternoon. There should also be some at LARC (address above) nearby, although LARC may not be open on Friday afternoon. Freedom is open Saturdays. Stickers will be available from the same place.
Events to leaflet
Here are some events that need leafletting. If you’re volunteering to do one of them, email the list with the name and date of the event and the word ‘sorted’ so we don’t have people duplicating each others efforts. Please add events to the list!
Sat 16th August, evening, squat party by Unsound, at the arches, Elephant and Castle SE1
Sat 16th August all day - Burgess Park, nr Old Kent Road tube, Black Music Festival (anti-gun crime theme!)
Sun 17th August all day - Burgess Park, nr Old Kent Road tube, Latin Music festival
Friday 22nd August Rebel Music at Electrowerkz, Torrens St, Angel N1, behind Angel tube.
Saturday 23rd August, anti-slavery all day festival, Cutty Sark, Greenwich
Sat 23, Sun 24, Mon 25 August – Notting Hill carnival, all over West London aroun Notting Hill, Westbourne Park, Latimer Rd, Royal Oak, etc. Best time to flyer, 6pm to 7pm when crowd is dispersing.
Going out places – Camden Town, Angel, Brixton, Hoxton Shoreditch (especially Rivington St) queues going in before 11, around pub chucking out time.
Markets, etc. Camden Market – outside Camden Town Tube Saturday and Sunday, cafes especially Vinyl Café in Inverness St, Cybderdog and Psychadelic Dream Temple in the main market complex.

There’s a food sub-group started that needs help getting together food and water on the day. Any offers of free food, cooking equipment or a space to cook in, transport, etc to the list please
