Quite right. Well if all the squatters/okupes/open space/autonomous space/ collective farmers/ illegal immigrants come to BCN for the 4th of October, the ratio of Anarkisty to normal person in Catalonia would be slightly more than 1:1.
We don't think this is going to happen.
And we aren't sure they'd all go back home again afterwards, perhaps they'd feel invited to hang around indefinetly using up our precious resources soaking up our revolutionary spirit and most seriously of all, damaging the linguistic integrity of the noble language Catalan. But then Forum 2004 would begin and they'd all become trendy or something...

SO you can't make it to the pan-€uropean-squatter day, what can you do?

You can inform us, the nodal well informed wireless head radio listeners of Barcelona how many of you there are.

You may thus turn at noon GMT on the 4th of October and face Barcelona humming at a low frequency and mouthing the sylable O-Ku-Pe. Then our trained psychics will monitor the traffic and e4stimate how many squatters there actually are. (Barcelona is 2º west of 0º=' and a bit higher than Mecca).

is it professionals? students? punks? illegal immigrants? gun collecting rightwing christian types?
Where do they squat in your city?
is it the inner city? outlying suburbs? center of motorway green areas?
What type of autonomous centre do you have?
are they tourist friendly and have their own T-shirts? or are they dark gloomy places with fortifications and barbed wire?
Do you have a sense of community? A one o' clock club or something similar for older retired okupes?

We in Barcelona (for we read "I") estimate that there are between 7 and 8 million regular users of either squat or autonomous centre in Europe.

This exercise will count towards making the world a better place, will feature on your permenant record, will earn points towards either your own website (unix) or a T-shirt.
