This site should be called 'Manchester AND Salford indymedia' as many of the posts are related to salford aswell and entirely. Also Salford is a seperate city to manchester and many salfordians are proud of their identity and are wanting to promote that salford is a seperate city.

Thank you imc for a local indymedia though, this was just a suggestion.

Except you've just posted on the national page! Does this mean national news is now replaced by Salford news :-)

At the moment, even if you post to a regional site, it becomes part of the national newswire, i think the tech team are working on that.

Greater Manchester IMC?

Two alternatives:

1) Re-name the Manchester IMC as "Greater Manchester".

2) Set up a Salford IMC.

Alternative 2 would be a wonderful idea as soon as it can be realistically implemented. I am sure Lowry would approve. However, the fact that the current Manchester IMC Newswire is not getting much traffic suggests that we need to select alternative 1 for the time being and publicise its existence as widely as possible.

I attach a pdf file containing a leaflet which can be downloaded and printed off and used for this purpose.
