WASHINGTON - The person who told the U.S. military where to find Uday and Qusay Hussein will receive $30 million US from U.S. taxpayers.

Washington isn't giving out the man's name but most media outlets have named Sheik Nawaf al-Zaydan Muhhamad, an Iraqi with ties to Saddam Hussein, as the informant.

Saddam's sons were killed on July 22 when U.S. troops stormed a villa owned by a family member. Their bodies were later displayed for media viewing.

State Department spokesperson Richard Boucher said the person "took a risk in what is a very important development."

Boucher added that it's important to demonstrate that the U.S. will stand behind its reward offer.
