Hiroshima Day in Sheffield

Steve | 30.07.2003 11:35 | Sheffield

August 6th is Hiroshima Day and Sheffield CND have planned an event.

HIROSHIMA DAY COMMEMORATION

Sheffield CND will be commemorating the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The commemoration will be in the Peace Gardens next to the Town Hall on Wednesday 6 August from 10am to 4pm. There will be a stall with leafletting from 10am and at 12 midday the Lord Mayor of Sheffield will visit. There will be a Sheffield Interfaith service after the Mayor's speech. There will be facilities and instructions for paper crane folding in the Japanese style. This should appeal particularly to children.

Any help from Sheffield CND members/sympathisers would be welcome. Please contact the Secretary Kath Cripps on 0114 296 7596 or email  kathcripps@blueyonder.co.uk.
