Many Iraqis Reject U.S.-Appointed Iraqi Governing Council

In what has become a nearly daily event, increasing numbers of Iraqis and Iraqi political organizations are voicing their deep criticism and rejection of the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council.
The latest political group, the Christian Democratic Party of Iraq, rejected the new interim government and specifically pointed out their rejection of Kurdish leader Masoud Barazani. The Christian group said it would not recognize any government unless directly voted in by the Iraqi people and legitimately represented the aspirations of the people.
In related news, a new Iraqi resistance group, the Brotherhood for the Liberation of Iraq, broadcast a video of several of its fighters armed with heavy machine guns and RPGs vowing to kill any and all foreign or Arab forces who enter Iraq.
To date, the number of U.S. military fatalities stands at 233. British fatalities are 43.
