World Trade Organisation Meeting

Claire | 21.07.2003 13:54 | Globalisation | Oxford

Meeting for Oxford activists against the WTO ministerial in Cancun.

Over the past few years the world has witnessed huge
international protests against the injustices of the capitalist system and
now imperialism too. The WTO,meets in Cancun,Mexico, later this year in
order to plan more global exploitation.

We won't all be able to go to Mexico to protest on the WTO's
doorstep, but we can protest in Oxford in solidarity against the WTO.

The inaugural meeting of the 'pre-Cancun events' steering committee is at
Oxford Town Hall,7.30pm Tuesday 22nd July. This has been instigated by
soem of those partaking in the Trade Justice Lobby which was held in June.
All groups and activists who want to oppose the WTO and global injustice
are encouraged to attend. The aim of this meeting is to discuss what kind
of event/s we can organise together in Oxford related to world trade
issues and the effects of WTO policies.
