Ariel Sharon, Israeli Prime Minister, ex-Israeli Army General, Mastermind of countless massacres that have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent Palestinians and Lebanese and Chief occupier and oppressor, is to meet with Prime Minister Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street on Monday.

At a time when British authorities prevented the likes of Louis Farakhan and Mike Tyson from gaining entry permits because of speculative allegations and past convictions, it is absurd that someone with as much blood on his hands as Ariel Sharon, would not only be allowed to enter the UK, but to enjoy full official courtesy and hospitality. It is important to remember that charges of War Crimes remain hanging over his head in a Belgian court of law.

The Muslim Association of Britain denounces this visit and demands that our Government take a firm stand on Israel’s continued occupation of Palestinian lands and oppression of Palestinian people. The fact that Israel, who possesses one of the most advanced Nuclear weapons programmes in the world and is recognised to be an occupying force, enjoys healthy relations with Britain, whilst our troops are still embroiled in a bloody war against a country who was accused of the same, is shameful.

War criminals such as Ariel Sharon and his Defence Minister Mofaz, who is still under investigation by the DPP for his alleged war crimes, should never be allowed in Britain unless to face the court of justice.
