Peace activist Jo Wilding will speak on her experiences in Iraq during the invasion & bombing and on the current situation

Monday July 14th 7.30pm at All Hallows Church 24 Regent Terrace Leeds LS6 1NP

On 13 February 2003 as the an attack on Iraq looked more and more likely Jo Wilding went to Iraq to act as an observer, at the time she said: "I am leaving for Iraq today to act as a human rights observer. I shall be gathering evidence on breaches of the Geneva conventions and other humanitarian law for legal challenges being brought by CND and Peacerights against the British government".

Over the next six and a half weeks Jo lived in Baghdad and her Iraq diary – a powerful and moving account of her experiences – were published in the Guardian and on the internet becoming a welcome humanitarian alternative to the propaganda of the US and UK governments and 'embedded' journalists.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
