first organising meeting
July 29th 8pm, 8pm, Adelphi Pub, Hunslett Rd
(there will also be a speaker reporting back from the Genoa Social Forum and the demonstrations in Genoa commemorating the death of Carlo Giuliani 2 years ago at the anti-G8 protests)
The ESF is going to be held in Paris, France from November 12-16 2003. It comes after a year that saw the most international movement emerge that Europe - and the world - has ever seen. Tens of millions marched against war, and last year’s ESF played a crucial role in building this. The Paris ESF will be a chance to take another huge step forward for the movement against war and capitalism. It will involve tens of thousands of activists and organisations discussing everything that’s wrong with the world, alternatives to the present system of war and poverty, and organising action for the coming year to start changing it.
o Come to the meeting on the 29th and find out more about the ESF
o Raise the ESF in your organisation and pass a resolution in support of the ESF and the Leeds Mobilising Committee
o Come to Paris in November, as an individual or a delegation from your organisation
