The Hospitality of Swiss Police

Milo Minderbinder | 07.07.2003 14:20 | Evian G8 | Globalisation | Repression | Cambridge | Oxford

Switzerland the home of modern day human rights? An historical connection lost on the Swiss police on Sunday 1st June, 2003 against anti-G8 protestors in Lausanne, where police repression was taken to another level.

Police move in
Police move in

Sitting ducks
Sitting ducks

Kidnapping commences...
Kidnapping commences...

And continues...
And continues...

And continues
And continues

I thought I had been canny in avoiding most of the police brutality that accompanied the anti-G8 protests and blockades in Lausanne on Sunday 1st June. Walking back through the now quiet streets of Lausanne, to the Bourdenette campsite where an hour or so earlier street battles with the Swiss and German riot police had been taking place, there remained only small reminders of the mornings events. In places the streets were still wet from the water cannons and teargas canisters lay in the gutters. Everything was now peaceful. Local residents were now back out walking their ridiculously small dogs.

Arriving back at the campsite

Welcome to the New World Order

Your protests are beautiful, but in these days of excessive repression and police brutality,we will need to be alot more concise of how we conduct our affairs in face of an unstoppable big brother climate....The first thing to be understood is that those in "power" do not understand the words "compassion" and "love" their main interests are to profit from "death" and "suffering" so what can we do....and have years of protests prevented any arms dealing......We nee to devise ways that we can take back our power from the nazi governments and police forces......Who do we pay taxes to ?...how can we earn money without some of it going towards killing others in far flung foreign places....??
We will need to have a full and concise knowledge of international banking procedures etc if we are to effect positive change for us all....
Indeed time and again when we protest we fall into the now age-old trap of police thuggery and arrest......
It may be time that we learnt the art of self defence i.e ju-jitsu.wing chun.....
and give these fascist bullys a good seeing to.....
There is nothing wrong in self defence......
But for most of us violence isn't the answer is it??
So how will we stop these fascist bastards?
More strategic thinking and strategic protest is needed
Remember that every time you announce meetings about protests that the police always keep
"protestors" under full on or casual surveillance .....and they always always infiltrate protest groups....So try not to let your plans be known....
And instead of mass protests try a series of highly and secretly planned protest on specific targets like arms dealers headquarters like a group of a five hundred suddenly turning up at lockheed on monday morning unexpectedly......
Try to think in terms of battle strategy instead of thinking that sitting peacefully is ever going to stop people making weapons.....
It isn't about being violent but using intelligent ,covert and well organised ideas of sabotage to stop these mad people killing everyone here.....
be cunning,be secret, don't talk so much....
Things like what that old granny did,"peacefully cutting through a tornado jet" are far more effective than sitting in road-blokades and chanting slogans...
Can't you see that this acheives nothing except the police beating people up.....
If you split up into small groups of intelligent secret and well thought out strategic actions then it will be much easier for you to sabotage these arms dealers etc....
It is easier to control a mass of people on one day who the police already knew about, but far harder for the authorities to repress and assault those who choose to be stealthy and employ the element of suprise....
So please think more and shout less....
So why not be quiet and do not use mobile phones as the police and intelligent services have the technology to listen in on mobile phones, landlines, and internet....
Better to have a small group of people who you know you can trust than a disorganised group of rowdy ego's ???
Use code language and phrases when discussing key issues,so even if you are under surveillance then no-body has a clue.....Meet in large crowded places where it is easy to mingle and dissapear in the crowd.....Do not dress like a protestor, learn to dress like a normal member of the public....
Stealth is your best weapon...
learn to sense when you are being watched or followed
learn how to get rid of people following you...
Learn realistic self-defence techniqueslike how to get out of the many choke and strangle holds that the police use....
Do not be afraid to beat up the police if in self defence
Do not be afraid of the police
The key is in learning how to carry things out but without attracting any unwanted attention to yourself...
It is no use just being an angry protestor....
