Update on Krynki Noborder Camp- 2nd of July

From the 2nd to the 7th of july a Noborder Camp is taking place in Krynki, Poland to protest against tightened visa regulations which are imposed on Poland to join the EU and in order to become a full member, it has to obey and impose Schengen Regulations to its Eastern neighbours, such as Russia, Belarussia and Ukraine.

At 15:40 the antiborder demonstration in Bialystok (2 July 2003) finished. About 80-100 people participated, and were accompanied by six police vans. However, the police did not attempt any direct provocation, apart from the overwhelming presence. There were visits of the demonstration to the City Council and to the Bellorussia Embassy, where activists tried to present a letter about human rights violations in Bellorussia to a representative of the Embassy. Unfortunately, no diplomat from the Embassy was diplomatic enough to come out and accept the letter, so it was placed inside the Embassy in the hope that it might be read later.
Buses at 16:00 were planned for the trip to Krynki where the antiborder camp will continue.

Each of the three buses going from Bialystok to the Krynki antiborder camp were stopped by border police. Just about everybody had their passports checked. By 19:00 people from the first two buses had been allowed to continue and arrived at the camp. Eventually all arrived safely at the camp.

On the 02.07 the first demonstration of the noborder camp in Krynki took place in Bialystok.
About 200 people protested against the tightened visa regulations at the eastern border of Poland based on Poland joining the EU.
It is written on the banners:
- against fortress Europe (front banner)
- open the borders
- lock in the governments (black banner)
- together with the children of Chechnya and Palestine the whole humanity is killed (yellow banner)
