Horrific Week On Our Roadways
15:25 Jul. 04, '03 / 4 Tammuz 5763
(IsraelNN.com) 19 motorists and pedestrians were killed on our roadways this week in motor vehicle accidents. The number does not include over ten persons killed last weekend, or fatalities from accidents this morning. Since Thursday night (26 June) until this morning, over 30 persons lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents. Dozens of persons were injured, some seriously. Just a short time ago, 16 persons were injured in the south in an accident between a minibus and a truck.
Since January 1, 2003, 228 persons were killed in motor vehicle accidents.
Police and government agencies continue to plead with the public to exercise caution while operating a vehicle and to refrain from driving if under the influence of alcohol or suffering from a lack of sleep. In addition, all occupants of vehicles, including the rear seat, are required by law and prudent judgment to buckle up!
