In a report broadcast on the afternoon of Tuesday July 1, the Turkish television channel TV8 said that four American soldiers were killed in Baghdad when they and their vehicle came under attack. Footage of a charred military vehicle abandoned in the middle of a street was shown by the channel. This is probably the same incident mentioned in US sources but without confirmation of American casualties. The TV8 report added that the view that a "guerrilla war" was developing in Iraq was becoming increasingly widespread.
