Police, Terror Suspects Killed in Mecca Shootout

Alright, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't it against Islamic Law to kill ANYTHING living on the holy land of Mecca? I mean I went there for Umrah and Hajj and we were told specifically that at no point in time are you to harm anything living. Unless it is needed for food, and even then never in excess. So where in the world did the Saudi government forget it's religion and start doing as Americans do? These people COULD have been brought back alive! I'm disgusted!!!
RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi authorities, reeling from bombings that killed 35 people last month, killed five suspected "terrorists" and arrested seven others in a shootout in Mecca, a local newspaper reported Sunday.
Five policemen died and five others were wounded Saturday night in the exchange of gunfire at a building in the al-Khalidiya district of Mecca, the daily Okaz quoted sources as saying.
Okaz said the suspects had fled to the building after a car chase with police. Authorities found large amounts of explosives and weapons in the apartment where the men were hiding.
"Security forces managed to arrest seven wanted people and five were killed during the storming of a building in the Khalidiya district where terrorist elements were thought to be," said the paper, which is close to the authorities.
The paper did not say if the suspects were linked to suicide bombings against foreign targets in Riyadh last month. Saudi officials were not immediately available for comment.
The kingdom said Saturday it had arrested five more suspects in the Riyadh attacks in addition to 25 people already in detention.
Saudi Arabia, birthplace of Islam, last week announced the names of 12 nationals who it said were the suicide bombers who carried out the blasts, which have been blamed on Saudi-born Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network.

Oh sure, they could all have been brought back alive. Crazed bloodthirsty zealots in a flat crammed with booby traps murdered five Saudi policemen before some of them WERE arrested alive. I suppose asking them politely to stop blowing holes in the Saudi police would have been much better.

We're told that's what the Religion of Peace(tm) always preaches, aren't we? So... does that not apply to killing 'kafirs', is it a lie, or is it that some people don't listen?
I bring you a khutba from the Holy Mosque in Medina:
"O God, strengthen Islam and Muslims, humiliate infidelity and infidels, and destroy Islam's enemies, including the vile Jews." He also asks God to protect the country of the custodian of the two holy mosques and "to help the Palestinian brothers defeat the usurper Jews, to shake the ground under them, to instill fear into their hearts, and to make them prey for Muslims."
Make them prey for Muslims. Sounds peaceful and tolerant to me. Apparently though, no-one is allowed to criticise Islamic extremism - erm - because that would be Islamophobic and racist. Similarly Islamic extremists in the West who demand an end to multiculturalism and tolerance through the creation of an Islamic ummah through violence, or advocate male domination over the female mind and body, no-one is allowed to criticise them because - erm - the left is so weak, confused and bereft of intellectual credibility they have sold out to the extreme right.
